Subject: [CR]Rim weights

Here are some rim weights that may be of interest. All were weighed on a Pitney Bose postal scale with a large, dial type display and a capacity of 4 pounds. In comparing this with other scales over the years, I have found it to be accurate. Each rim was weighed several times to check consistency.

The Mavics and Campagnolo are new. The Super Champions are used. The Campagnolo is aero section and has no eylets.

Mavic Open Pro, 700c, silver: 36h-1 at 425 grams, 1 at 439 32h-2 at 425 grams 28h-2 at 397 grams

Campagnolo Aero Omega, hardox: 28h-1 only, 454 grams

Super Champion Gentleman 81: 36h-2 at 482 grams.

I am surprised that the Super Champs weighed in below 500 grams and amazed that the 28h Mavics weigh only 397 grams!

I'm going to build the 36h Mavics this week with Revolution spokes and alloy nipples on Record high flange hubs. I'll post the completed wheel weights when I'm finished.

Does anyone else have rim or complete wheel weights? I'd be particularly interested in lightweight sew up wheels.
