Am I missing something here with all this "Open C" business??
What makes these shifters so valuable? Hurry, $102.50 and only an hour left to bid!!
Are there certain block-letter shifters and QR levers that are distinct and rarer than others? What are the differences?
I'm confused.

To tell you the truth, I am too. I believe we dealt with this not long ago, but I'm still not clear on why these things are so desirable. They're kinda cool, I agree; the "C" in the Campagnolo stamp is different from the more familiar look. But note this: I have a 1972 Follis with the "open C" stamped quick releases on the set of original Nuovo Tipo hubs, but the shifters have the conventional closed C. All are the original parts. It appears both dies might have been used simultaneously for awhile at least, well into the 70s.
