WOW! $1,900 is way high for a 543 until I remembered that the folks who were selling Juy 543's in the $1,200 - $1,400 range over the past few years were selling them to Japanese dealers. If they were then marking up the price by a typical 1.5x then the price would be $ 1,800 to $ 2,100 retail. If Japanese retail customers "discover" ebay than they are simply buying these items "in the range" of what they would usually pay.
My guess is now that buyer and seller can be in closer contact, more such "rare" items will come out of the woodwork in both the US and Europe, and perhaps prices will be pushed down. It will be interesting to see what starts showing up now that people see how much some of this stuff can be worth! Mike "I sold my last 543 for way too little" Kone
