Cycling Handbook by A L Pullen 1st edition 1950 176pp If you want to know anything about the gears, brakes and frames of the 1950s the various Cycling Handbooks by Lon Pullen are the business. There were three editions 1950, 1953 and 1960 and all are sufficiently different that it is worth getting all three editions. There¹s a large section on Sturmey Archer gears and plenty on setting up various Cyclo, Osgear, Simplex and Constrictor gears which is copiously illustrated. It is full of facts with lovely details suych as the weights of the various gears, handlebar specifications and masses else. In addition I have never found a mistake in the info supplied. These are quite rare these days. This copy has a very tatty dustjacket but is otherwise excellent. $65
