Subject: [CR]Cirque--Baylis Colors

Now that I've had a few days to ponder the true meaning of life after Cirque, I've been thinking about the colors that Brian Baylis uses. Brian explained to me how he mixes toners with off-the-shelf colors to come up with those awesome colors. He also uses some very unusual combinations of colors that most of us wouldn't even consider, yet, when completed, they are masterpieces. I believe this is one of the reasons he is a master. It isn't just the perfection of the frame or the perfection of the paint application. When you see a Van Gogh, you know that there is something special about the colors and the strokes, as well as the combinations, even when the sky is painted green! Brian gets my vote for that higher level of artistic expression. It is what separates his work from that of the next level down, which in many cases is quite good. Very few people have this talent and I'm just glad to have personally met someone who is at this level of his profession. Brian, tha! nks. Lou Deeter, "alligator is still in the pond" Orlando FL
