I work in the automotive body and paint field I have all kinds of interesting products around from 3m and others and decided to try adhesive remover on some very gunked up sew ups. I happen to own some very nice solvent resistant gloves and yes the chemicals in these solvents should not get in your lungs or on your skin but good luck avoiding that. The stuff gets soft then starts to look and feel like fresh glue only stringy and tacky -- then guess what it is all over your gloves all over your rims all over the can of solvent. My gloves did not allow the solvent into my skin but they started to expand and it was hard to keep them on my hands let alone work. It took me hours to get all the residue off everything. It does work with a scotchbright but with lots of glue the pad is clogged almost instantly. After that ordeal I went back to taking an old not too sharp worn buckknife that I chip away the old glue with then I take solvent and a scotch bright to clean the remaining surface to like new. Not as much mess. Sam D. :)
