Sounds like Chater-Lea might be more appropriate? Both Chater-Lea and BSA were the finest England had to offer in the 20s and 30s. >>
In the past few years I have read quite a bit about the 6 Day races and the bikes used and I must say, it appears to me that BSA seemed to have been by far the most popular components in use. While Chater Lea frame bits (lugs & bb shells) were common, the Chater Lea components themselves appear less frequently, so I think Scott is on the right track (no pun inteneded!) in his use of BSA on that Drysdale.
