Subject: [CR]Campagnolo hub question

I just disassembled a mid 70's Campy front hub to locate a clicking noise that happened while riding. I noticed that the cone on one side had a piece broken off the race near the axle. Now I don't know if this caused the noise or not, but it looks suspicious. I also noticed that the bearings are 3/16". Another set of Campy hubs I have use a different size bearing. What is the correct size to use? If 3/16" bearings are correct, did Campy change bearing sizes over the years? Also, should there be any play in the pressed in race on the hub? One side has a minute amount of movement while the other side has the race inserted below the edge of the hub, bad hub or normal?
