I have always gone by "wspokes" on ebay when buying and selling and similar to Charlie, I commonly find items I am interested in where "oldlugs" has also bid, I no longer even attempt to stay in the game. I am also not offended by getting sniped! It happens. I have also bought from several listmembers like "bikenut" and sold to "bianchi", so we can all see where it is one big happy family here. Peace

>

>Dale and group:

>

>I too tend to defer bidding on components / bikes on eBay when it means

>competing with a CR listmember. I do make exceptions to this policy. For

>example, "oldlugs" seems to go after damned near everything that I am

>interested in buying. On occasions I will attempt to outbid him on something

>and recall that he mentioned once in a message to the list (or perhaps in post

>bid correspondence over a Zeus that he won) that he also played that way. I do

>understand others' positions that it is an open market and, as such, is fair

>game for anyone that wants to go after an item.

>

>That said, it would be useful for those of us that generally refrain from

>bidding against CR members to know the eBay pseudonyms that they use. Perhaps

>Dale or other listers would volunteer to compile and distribute a listing of

>them.

>

>For the record, I'm "ctycycle" on eBay. No hard feelings if you guys snipe me.

>Really! I'll just put you on the no-holds-barred sub-list .

>Oh no, not only do you know where I bid, you know where I live.

>

>

> > Well.... that is some bicycle! I would love to have it but I know it will be

> > "too rich for my blood". Are we ready to start a pool as to predicting the

> > final selling price? Of course, the reserve could be set higher than buyers

> > are willing to go. Should be fun to see. I wish I had a rich relative who

> > would conveniently pass away and leave me a small fortune!!!

> > Also, I notice some bidders for various eBay items who I think may be CR

> > members but because they are being stealthy (why?) their bidding names have

> > no relationship to their regular e-mail identities. Without knowing what

> > their IDs are, I cannot decide whether to defer to them in the bidding..

> > Can''t think of an easy solution either! Ideas?
