I had my fillet brazed custom Bilenky clear coated. You're invited to ask Stephen Bilenky exactly what he did, mailto:artistry@bilenky.com, and tell him I sent you.

Whatever he did, it was cool looking, but it was starting to rust at less than a year old, so I gave up and had it painted. I _think_ they used a slightly tinted clear primer and put clear coat on top of that.
