Greetings One and All! This is an advance notice for the upcoming 4/5 Piers ride on Bastille Day, Saturday, July 14th. This ride covers approximately 39 easy miles from the Belmont (Shore) Pier area to the Seal Beach, Huntington Beach and then Newport Beach Pier and then back. The last hop to the Balboa Pier and the Wedge is optional. We will stop for coffee ect. at/around the Newport Pier and head back to my humble abode for lunch, bicycle 'show and tell' & then tall tales from way back when. Promises to be fun for all! I'll provide refreshments before and Lunch after the ride...We will meet at 9:30 AM or so & rollout at 10 AM. I'd like to go with a French theme "650's from the 50's". In other words 650B wheeled bikes from France...I'm planning to ride a late 1950's Terrot 6 speed. Otherwise anything from France will do if you are 650B-less anything NR/SR/1986 or earlier will work if you are French-less. If you want to ride an iBobster than put it in friction mode. The start location is close to the intersection of the 405, 605 and 22 Fwy's just north of the Los Angeles/Orange County line in Sunny Southern Calif. This is a "No-Drop" ride and will regroup as needed. The ride is flat along the beach bikepath so it is truly 39 or so easy miles. More details to follow ...address & directions will be provided to those interested in participating.
