No, not to fear.. It was welded along it's length... Don't you remember not long ago on this forum, the almost-persuasive arguments made for seamed tubing such as Ishiwata and TrueTemper? I also do not recall any Peugeot forks failing.. I think they were of cheaper steel and just compensated for by using a thicker gauge.
