I was told by the previous owner of this bike that is was painted by Jim Allen of Masi in 1995. While the year of the painting is not correct, I still think Jim painted it and he will find it if he digs a little deeper. I do not feel it is that important. I can tell you the paint job is top notch and the bike is very clean and real nice looking . From 1973 to 1975 Mario Confente did all the aligning and brazing of the frames , he also did most of the mitering. Brian Baylis did the shaping and drilling of the lugs. Chuck Hoffer of Pacific Coast Cyclery in Carlsbad and another guy did the filing of the lugs durring this period. Who ever gets this bike will not be disapointed, I can tell you the style, and lug work on this bike is much nicer than my 1971 Italian Masi. If the bike was my size it would not be for sale. Thanks, Sterling PS. I could not help throwing Mario's name around, but any bike built after 1975 does not Qualify in the use of his name. Also they do not have the pressed steel lugs.
