We have a pair and a spare (rear) on my wife's road bike,but it doesn't get used 100 mi./yr. Ours are 120 mm, so they are 5-speed vintage. got the one pair that is on her bike about 1975, if I recall correctly. Unlike the Hi-E, it seems like the cartridge bearings are just pressed in place (like Phil), so replacement should be pretty easy. Haven't had to do it, though.
