Well boy's and girl's - seeing as you asked here is your chance to discuss something about Flying Scot's (though not exclusive to Scot's I'd imagine)
I recently acquired another Scot - a track frame - and the first track bike I've really paid any attention to. On measuring it up I find that it has seat stays that thicken out to the bridge. Perhaps to make it clearer - the (round) stay's are 3/8" dia. at the top eye end expanding out in a single taper to 1/2" at the bridge, then reducing back in to 3/8" again in a single taper down to the track end. The question is - What is the script with these stays - I've seen plently Scot's with 1/2" to 3/8" or 5/16" pencil stays, but almost always in a single taper from top to bottom. The frame is I suspect full Reynolds 531 and dates from 1964.
