I have some other 1960s British bikes with that rapid taper chain stay but I think it was just a ton by Raleigh! The over sized, bulged-right-behind-the-bbkt. chainstays like in the PS were also made by Ishiwata.

Yes, you are right.... not to mention the rumored various Excel and Reynolds tubes used in the 3V. Early Cinelli, Masi, Pogliaghi and Legnano seemed to use more Reynolds than we might expect from Italian builders..
