hey folks well, in response to richard schwinn's question of how many have seen steel frames rusted out. i have certainly seen some good quality steel frames rusted enough i would not want the owner riding the bike anymore. rust around the lugs so bad the frame was about to fall apart and rust enough in other areas it seemed frightening to have them ridden. is that "rusted out"? i don't know but i framesaver every frame we hang parts on here. guess i'm one of those ounce of prevention folks myself but it sure is a shame to see a beautiful, hand-crafted frame dropping chunks of metal and rust. is it something a good paintjob would fix? most of the time, i would imagine. but when i can pour a half cup of rust out of the bb...is that a frame you would feel confident about? something to ponder, i reckon. peace sarah
