Subject: [CR]RE: Straight forks

Hello All, I also remember reading the article in which Ernesto Colnago stated that he "saw some and needed to test them out on production runs" "liked the idea and implemented them once they proved to be viable alternatives to curved forks." I remember seeing a few Asahi, Nishiki, and Shogun bikes with straight forks prior to Colnago. At that time, we(the shop mechanics) thought it to be a cheaper approach to manufacture. We also noticed alot more headset failure on the lower cup... granted, they were cheap headsets, but just a little too coincidental. My two cents... I prefer the look and ride of a curved fork.
