Jim,

Are you the person that has the Hetchins tandem also? If so, hello. I'm curious how many modern Hetchins tandems there are here in the states. I have one, Dave Martinez has one in your town, and there is a third; is that you?

I've heard that about 10 or fewer Hetchins tandems have been built since WWII. I'd like to know if anyone else on the list has one also or knows of one or someone who has one as well. Are there three of those 10 on the left coast (two in the same city in No. Cal.) or are there more out there than I'm aware of? Just curious.

IV heard the rumors about the parts being farmed out to various small builders in northern Italy for brazing and being painted in So. Cal.
> IM very happy with my ' 75 California Masi ,I don't care witch one of the craftsmen brazed it. In fact IM so happy with it , a few years ago when I turned 50 , I was also celebrating 35 years of cycling , I needed something special as a present to me .
> So I had a Hetchins Magnum Opus built , I copied the dimensions of my Masi and sent them off to David Miller at Hetchins , they did an excellent job , the fork rake was off about a 1/16th of a inch , so what . Doe's it ride like my Masi , no .
