Andy was riding a Landshark?! Wow. I bet not many other people knew or would have guessed that one. When I think of Landshark, I think paint schemes. I do not remember any such paint scheme on Andy's bikes. Sponsor's color's I suppose? I have a copy of one of the Euorpean rags (Cycle Sport?), that revisited that particular Giro, and in particular the deciding stage at the Gavia(?) Pass - snow covered! Now that was heroic! A Landshark, eh? Never would have guessed. Richard Rose (Toledo, Ohio)

To this category I must add John Slawta of Landshark (with whom cycles de ORO enjoys a great business relationship!) who has supplied many top riders both on track and road. Roy Knickman, Greg Demgen, Thurlow Rogers and Jme Carney come to mind immediately but most notable must be the only USA builder and USA rider to win the Giro, with Andy Hampsten in the saddle!
