It's nice to see some of the (often underrated and under appreciated) Canadian offerings getting some cyber-ink in this thread. I've not had the pleasure of owning a Marinoni, but I've seen enough to leave a very favorable impression. I have owned a Ryffranck (with paint by Marinoni) that was a wonderful bike to ride as well as look at. For those who haven't seen one, take a look here:

A custom Ryffranck can be had at a very reasonable price. The price list on the Ryffranck web site is circa 1998, so you'd have to see what today's market has imposed, but it might be worth the effort.
Unfortunately, I had to sell the Ryffranck to pay for my Sachs. I'm not really complaining, I'd just like to have both!
