Fuji and other manufacturers built bikes with 27" FRAMES during the 70's and early 80's. These usually weren't top of the line machines and were almost never bought by riders who needed that much seat tube but they made a non-custom cycle available for truly tall folks. It seems that riders over about 6'4" are totally screwed these days especially in the mountain bike area with road cycles topping out at around 62cm and mountain @ 55.
