My opinion, Rivs are wonderfully made, better than most if not all of the old world classic builders and all but a very few of the american artisians (Baylis, Sachs, etc).

There is nothing magic about the Euro builders of old. They built wonderful machines, yes, but the best of the US builders have advanced the art and craft significantly beyond the standards set by Masi, Singer, Hetchins, and the like. I would count Rivendell's current builders (Curt and Joe) among the best framebuilders working today in terms of quality of craftsmanship, materials, and fabrication techniques.

I don't particularly care for Rivendell's styling choices, but I have HUGE respect for the product and the philosphy behind it.

Following the discussion on Waterford bikes, does anyone have an opinion on the quality, wokmanship etc. in classic vintage terms of the bicycles of
Rivendell.
