Good morning Campers!

I have a very special friend and long time fellow framebuilder for whom I'm hoping to do a favor by trying to find a new home for this particular bicycle. The bicycle is a Medici frame that was built giving the special attention a framebuilder would give to a frame for his wife. It was built prior to 1980 I'm pretty sure because Gian Simonetti tells me that I painted it while I was working for them around that time. Mike Howard and Gian Simonetti gave it their best and I did the paint. The bike was ridden probably about 100 miles (!!) total in it's lifetime. A few of the chrome bits on the campy parts need some elbow grease but other than that the bike looks practically unridden (because it is). JB got a better look at the bike than I did since I was looking at old framebuilding bits, but the bike is NR equipt except for the ft. der. if I'm not mistaken. The bars are Cinelli VIP with the matching saddle all in blue suede.

The frame measures 52cm c-t and is a bright pearl yellow in color. It has the name Kathi Simonetti in blue lettering on the top tube near the seat lug. Anyone interested in a nice vintage lugged steel Medici with almost no miles on it should call Gian Simonetti right away and check into it. He's asking a very reasonable $600 for the whole bike, plus shipping. If the bike finds a new home the buyer will be helping out one of my very good friends who is in need of a little support during a difficult time created by a recent unfortunate turn of events. In addition it will allow me to feel as if I have helped someone for whom I have a trememdous amount of respect. Gian Simonetti can be reached at (714)842-3206 weekdays until 3pm Pacific time.

There are some more details of our visit to Simonetti that I will discuss later related to my gathering of detailed and intimate information on the Masi/Wizard/Confente/Medici story still on the books. Trust me folks, there is still a lot of information that you haven't heard yet. I'll save it for a while so we can concentrate on the Flying Scot and a few other frames for now.

If someone on the list becomes the new owner of the 52cm Medici you will make me so proud.
