Subject: [CR]Further painting technique questions

Hi Trying to hone my painting and masking skills leads me to ask the following:

I would like to know what the best method is for painting/masking around lugwork, particularly the fancy lugs with lots of points and curlicues (SP?).

Does one mask off the lug with masking tape(if so, recommended type, and how do you apply it, and cut it to shape??).........

And, does one mask for the primering application, then remove the masking, rub down, then reapply the masking, but a little further back from the paint line(so the top coat(s) don't expose any of the primer edge)........I have noticed, that if I mask, primer, (don't remove masking between coats) rub down, then apply top coat, I am able to see a faint edge of primer (that must have bled under the edge of tape minutely)yet the top coat doesn't seem to bleed equally to cover the edge.

Thanks for any replies in advance. Neill
