Eric,

As close as I can tell from the photos, that is a VERY early Carlsbad Masi. This is one of several bikes stamped with the size and the serial number reversed. It should be stamped MC 56. The serial number 32 indicates this was the 32nd frame serial numbered!! There is no zero in front of it to indicate a frame between 101 and 199, so it is number 32. That would be the second batch of 25 frames built in Carlsbad. The first 25 were 57cm. Obviously the next 25 frames were 56cm. I think the 3rd run would be 58cm. After that who knows; but they never got to building 50cm while I was there so I never got an employee frame out of the deal.

The white trim in the cutouts has probably been painted over the original yellow trim. Other than that the frame looks original. I was there when that frame was being built.

Good luck!
