"Triplex" as seen in Southern California ca. 1972-74 was on some cheap hi-ten framed Orbea bikes that a few military personnel brought into a place I worked at to have assembled; they said a base PX where they were stationed (they didn't say what branch of the military and whether or not they were stationed Stateside or in Europe) was selling them @$75.00. Sort of like Gitane Interclubs as I remember; steel cranks, cheap sewup rims with Wolber Juniors, Triplex derailleurs, no-name brakes. David Feldman
