Another question came to mind... there is a a big "R"" cut into the Marinoni BB which I am told is a identifying marque for Marinoni. Are there basic guidelines for identifying a frame manufacturer based on the BB cutout? What are some of the identifying BB marks for Masi, Colnage, etc.?

Giuseppe did like the fancy cutouts. My '82 Marinonni came with Maple leaf cut outs, painted white to contrast with the red w/ yellow panels paint job. I seem to recall there were other options too for cut outs. I specified the maple leafs due to my family ties to the Brantford Ontario region. I wonder if the bike in question was originally delivered to a buyer in Quebec?

Also, I have the same head lugs and fork crown on mine, but have never been sure who made the lugs. I was told by the shop (Multigear of Ann Arbor, long since defunct) that the bottom bracket was Cinelli, but have never been comfortable with that identification, and I certainly suspect the lugs and crown are from a different maker. Can anyone elucidate the lineage of the crown and lugs?

I do like those cutouts!! Anybody planning to come to Cirque from Alberta, Canada that might want to stuff this one in your trunk for me? I seem to recall someone recently talking about the cost for customs for shipments from Canada. I know of one instance when that happened to a buyer and I think the custom fee was quite hefty. Without knowing for sure is kind of like accepting "buyer pays shipping" without establishing up front exactly what that means to the seller.
