Hi Dale, and all members,

I have been having a problm of finding an exact definition for "CUT-OFF" timing/meaning at "eraly 80's".

Some frames/bike built today carry's all requirements-definitions of Classical Light weights. For instance; I am trying to built a cutom frame with Dale, of which material is R-531 tubing perhaps made before early 1980's. This bike is going to be built in 2003 but still in border line??

So, if you "exculde" things newly invented/created/changed after 1983 model year or so, makes some sense of understanding for C-R period definitions. How this sounds for you all? My knowledge is very limited, and memory is falling apart, so I can not comment that what were taking palce in early 1980's, but aluminum and carbon frames were not main thing and nor 7 speed cogs??
