What I do is to hook my thumbs around the bosses while my middle and index fingers are pulling the clamp area apart. I move my hands ever-so-slow, slightly out and up. Do this while closely watching the clamp and easing off if bending starts. Praying to the spirt of Tuilo and having a glass of Masi wine helps. After it bends anyway, install the replacement...
