Harvey, The early Phil Wood hubs were certainly three piece hubs and I'm pretty sure that the drive side flange was threaded on. But I really have no idea whether the left side flange is press fit or threaded. The wheels on my tandem use these hubs. At the rear, the left side is also threaded to accept a disk brake. Would a simple press fit flange be secure enough to handle the braking forces from the disk? Anyway, you're welcome to examine the wheels but I can't allow you to disassemble the hubs!
