You'll probably get a range of answers, so here's one data point. My 1966 PX-10E, with 52/45 rings, has a 15/17/19/20/23 cluster. No way for me to tell if this was original or changed by the original owner. I'm guessing it was original because the original owner gave me pretty much everything that came with the bike (including special tools) when he gave it to me. There were no additional cogs.
