Hi CR French fans,
As I understand, Hurtu was a second tier French builder. The bikes have a very good reputation among the "experts" in France - but they are not of a Singer/Herse type build quality. A friend made the analogy that Hurtu is to the top makes as Waterford is to the true custom frame makers - might ride pretty similar but its just not quite the same. That said, I hope someone picks up the frame and does a nice build with it, but it will be a little chunk of work.
If anyone is interested, Mario Girasa has a pretty nifty Hurtu tandem that could be bought from him for a not crazy price - and it is nearly complete with correct wheels, deraillieurs, lighting - the whole deal I believe. If anyone has trouble reaching him let me know and I'll get you in touch.
