The Scheeren Standard was the "Heavier" of the Scheeren models, The Standard and the Weltmeister. Both were extremely light and strong rims with small wood blocks at each spoke hole. The aluminum part of the rim (non-anodized) was quite thin and would dent easily. The Standards were more often used for road, while the Weltmeisters were too light to take any bumps that might be found on the road- they were used on the track. My little gram scale broke, but my recollection was that the Weltmeisters were 230 or so grams and the Standards were 260...?

Both require long spoke nipples 3/4". They were available in 32 hole, 36 hole and 40 hole. The decals tended to flake off easily.

They were made in Western Germany and were made from the early 50's through the 60's and were used well into the 70's when available. I don't know these dates for sure, but they're my educated guess.
