In the 80s Weinmann released a couple of sets of brakes along this "delta" line. i.e. A centre pull brake with a rigid centre operator rather than a straddle wire. I never saw a set being used, but I did sell a set a few months ago. They were NOS, so i never got a chance to try them. There were two levels of quality, one for knutted fittings and one for Allen key. Did anyone ever use these <snip>?

I have a pair that I like very much, and used for several years. Mine are the upper line, which features a rubber hood. They also have a "semi-automatic" tension adjuster that works sort of like brake adjusters on older cars: If the cable pulls too far, a ratchet engages and rotates the barrel to tighten it. The lever arms have no adjustment for mounting position, that is taken up by a slot for the main mounting bolt. All-in-all, an elegant design that took a lot of hand effort but did stop the bike. I can do pix for the CR site if none are there.
