I use and ride Fiamme Ergal rims and Mavic GEL280's both and have found that my Ergals always come in at right around 280 grams while all the GEL280's I've weighed come in at about 290-295. Certainly not enough of a difference to make me prefer one over the other, but I absolutely prefer either over anything more modern I've come across. I've been told that earlier runs of the 280's were closer to 280 grams.
