Hello list members,

We’ll, I finally made it back to the States. Although I’m glad to be back, I have to admit I will miss Okinawa. Stopped at a few shops on the way from the West to the East Coast. Bob, thanks for the hospitality and the great deal on the MAFAC cantilevers. Side note. If your ever in Seattle make it a point to stop by Elliott Bay Bicycles they really know how to take care of a customer. By the way Bob, does the owner of the large 70’s Davidson wish to sell? I’m still very interested! Now for the question…I have a 1960 E.G.Bates that I’m restoring. It came with Weinmann 610, center pull brakes. The brake calipers appear to be from mid to late 70’s (two separate return springs, red inlayed nameplate). Would a set of MAFAC Racers be more appropriate for this vintage? With all the recent talk about center pulls it made me wonder. Also, I’m looking for a set of wing nuts for the BH Airlight hubs, both front and rear. Does anyone have a nice set they would be willing to sell? I’m not sure what would be appropriate for a British bike of this vintage. Please let me know. Thanks for now. I look forward to your responses.

Regards, Rich (robin25), Quantico VA
