Thanks Phil and others that responded with information on the brakes. I am a little mystified..Am I correct in that the front brake has a shouldered section (unthreaded) immediately behind the caliper. Also; how long is the rear brake bolt normally? Either way the rear brake bridge will not accept the shoulder on the bolt and the fully threaded bolt is not long enough to pass through the fork. Looking at the unfinished end of the fully threaded bolt, it may have been cut. But why, what and aagh! Am I missing something? Rob Williams in Seattle, keeping the log fire burning.
