I've been using Vittoria Phoenix 32s on the Girardengo for the last year, and I love them! The tires I have are light grey tread with light buff sidewalls... people are always commenting on how they look like whitewalls. They're perfectly round, nice tread, thin supple sidewalls, seem durable so far, and at 95PSI provide a very comfortable ride.

based on 27" Super Champion rims and NR large flange hubs. My LBS can
several tires for around $20 each that look appealing (black tread, tan
sidewalls). The choice is Michelin World Tour, Pasela Panaracer TG, and
Vittoria Phoenix 32 Road Tire. Anybody have a recommendation? The bike is
used for a mostly rural commute on decent roads and some light touring. I
used tubulars last year but did have more flats (usually in the dark, always
the rear tire!) than I felt like dealing with. Thanks!
