Boys and girls:

All this talk about quick releases versus nutted axles is distracting the List from my ongoing eBay auctions (seller ID rchasteen@kc.rr.com).

But for what it's worth, in all my gazillion miles of fixed gear riding (most on road hubs secured with quick releases) I have never, EVER had a wheel slip. AND that is with normal clamping pressure on the Campagnolo quick release. AND I don't use a lockring on my fixed gear road hubs AND I have never, EVER had a cog unwind itself. AND, lately, I have been using master links on my fixed gear chains with no disasters. Some of my riding buddies shake their heads and mumble among themselves when we have this conversation but these things work for me.
