A time must come when vintage bikes are restored with copies of original parts, at least in some cases. There is a finite supply of all of these parts which will, in time, be used and gone. After all, how many model T's are still running on original equipment tires? And quite frankly I have had some LBS people say that they can't get 27 inch tires! Not true probably but still a problem when you want to buy one today instead of next week. Reproductions should be labeled as such but otherwise build 'em and sell 'em.
