Reproduction parts are the life's blood of the classic car industry. You either have to find NOS parts, used parts, or make them. Granted, the classic bike enthusiast probably won't spend the necessary money to have say, a new crank milled, but it's only a matter of time when that may no longer be the case. I've been to Ferrari shows were some of the cars are almost completely made of remanufactured parts as well as having new body work fabricated. Doesn't seem to bother the faithful as long as the parts are faithfully copied. As far as I know, no one has ever mentioned copyright problems reproducing those parts (usually they're one offs anyway).
