HINDS 20in FRAME, probably late 1960s, Nervex Pro lugs, Campag long ends, 21in top tube and a lovely wrapover seat stay top. This frame is nicely detailed and was almost certainly built by Bill Grey. Bill Grey was chief foreman framebuilder at Claud Butlers in the 1940s and 50s and built most of their SWB tandems. He went onto build frames for Hinds in the 60s. This frame has been refinished in red flam enamel with some transfers and has Campag down tube bosses which were probably added later. The paint is in generally very good condition but there there are some marks and one touch up. Rather than the correct transfers some ³supplied by² Hinds transfers have been fitted to head and seat. I can get at extra cost the correct down tube transfer and a replica of the head for buyer. $195

CLEMENT/CAMPAGNOLO TYRE PRESSURE GAUGE - excellent condition fitted I think as original with a Campagnolo head. It appears to be in working order but its accuracy cannot be guaranteed. $30

ASSOS SADDLE 1980s NOS excellent condition - Assos saddles were the top saddles of the 1980s and this one is unused but shows a very few minor shopwear marks. $55

WEINMANN 999 CENTRE PULL BRAKES early style which are engraved with the Weinmann 999 name. They are in very good condition and are both deep reach. $65

GB SPEARPOINT ALLOY STEM - very good 8cm. There are a few small marks on the quill and it does have the normal insertion marks. Unusually it is drilled for a centre-pull brake c able - this was a factory option.$45

AMBROSIO GRAND PRIX STEM NOS10.5cm, it has a few shopwear marks but nothing serious. $45

BSA DOUBLE FLUTED 7in CRANKS/CHAINSET - complete with 22T 1in pitch BSA chainring (equivalent to 44T 1/2in pitch) and a 44T 1/2in pitch chainring. In their time these BSA double fluted cranks were some of the best of their time and were considered superior to Chater-Lea and were used by almost all the top track riders both in Britain and on the continent. The chrome plating on the arms is pitted lightly in places. The 1in pitch chainring¹s teeth show just a little light wear; the teeth on the 1/2in pitch chainring are more worn but still perfectly useable. These cranks are very rarely seen in 7in length and are ideally suited to taller riders. $105

STRONGLIGHT 3-ARM CHAINSET 1950s -170mm cranks and 50/47T chainrings dating probably from the 1950s. The cranks have been very nicely rechromed. The chainrings are in very good condition with just a very small amount of pitting on the inner ring - the teeth are excellent on both rings. $110

BAYLISS WILEY UNIT FREEHUB c/w SPROCKETS NOS NIB - virtually perfect Bayliss Wiley unit freehub with built in freewheel and comes complete with 15/19/20T BW freehub sprockets. This design was introduced in 1938 and continued to be made until the late 1950s. $50

WONDER WHEELS by Eileen Sheridan - the autobiography of Eileen Sheridan Britain¹s top women cyclist from the 1950s. This autobiography is a truly great read - she broke all sorts of road place-to-place records riding as a professional for Hercules Cycles and was a top time triallist. This copy is in excellent condition with a near perfect dustjacket. $55

WILLIAMS C34 CRANKSET - 6 1/2in , the chrome plating is in generally good condition - there is a little wear from a toe strap on the right hand crank. I can supply a suitable chainring at extra cost. $25

SIMPLEX 4-SPEED 1/8in FREEWHEEL 15/17/19/21T sprockets. This has been very lightly used I think though equally it may be unused - its a little difficult to tell, in any case it is in excellent unworn condition $35

SIMPLEX PRESTIGE REAR DERAILLEUR c1962 - first version with blue backed logo. It is generally very good condition with no obvious play in the pivots or in the ball bearing pulleys. The cream coloured plastic has discoloured a little but this is a very rare derailleur that has obviously not been used very much. It is complete with an early 60s Simplex alloy lever. $35

EVERY CYCLIST¹S POCKET BOOK by F J Camm published in 1952. 400pp. This is a fascinating little book chock full of useful information for anyone interested in 1950s cycling or cycles. There¹s a great little advert section at the rear withs ads from Gillott, Gnutti, Ashby and about ten other manufacturers. $25
