Lou and others,

Just for your info, the fellows name was/is Sid Star, not Start. He also imported Windsor: in 1979 I had a Super Carrera with a fork problem, and he invited me to his house to pick up a replacement fork. Nice, nice guy. At his house, he showed me the new line he was carrying: Lotus. His living room was filled with bikes (my kind of guy) The craftmanship on those Lotuses (Loti?) were so nice, I was sorry I just bought my Windsor. Oh well. Years later, when I began racing with the Gold Coast Velo club, we were sponsored by Lotus, and we had these pink lycra jersies with the Lotus logos on the front and back. No bikes, but Sid gave us some start money, IIRC, and the jersies. Boy, did those lycra jersies stink when we got sweaty. Mark Rosenberg San Diego, CA howtostretch.com >>
