And yet a further link between bikes and Lotus cars... Wasn't the Lotus superbike that Chris Boardman rode in his hour record made by the Lotus car company ? (seems to me I remember seeing their logo on the headtube)

the Lotus car company (colin chapman) also had models that the lotus bicycle company seemd to like such as the elite, eclat and the excel so its not just the elan.
