Hi David, FWIW, I bought a NIB 1974 Raleigh International for $1000 USD a few years ago. It was pure luck to get it for that price, I think. An aquaintance bought a NOS 1972 Schwinn Paramount for $1200, which is a very similar bike, so it might have been a bit overpriced. Now.. the Competition GS was one step below the International. The original price was perhaps $100 or $150 less (the International was equipped with Campy Nuovo Record, vs. the Gran Sport on this version of the Competition). I'd venture that a NIB Competion might be worth $800, so a nearly new one could be worth $600 or $700. My personal opinion is that the GS model is not as desirable as the earlier model with the French gear (the TA crank & Huret Jubilee derailleurs), but that's just because that was the model in the catalogs I used to drool over as a youth. :-)

regards, Steve Kurt Peoria, IL (where it's raining, but I squeaked in a ride on the '71 International fixed gear w/ Bluemels fenders)
