Oops, brain fart - Super Sport was not welded, it was brass fillet brazed. Similar to the welded Varsity and Continental but much nicer. I even have one, so that was a dumb mistake. I just went and looked at it to refresh my memory, and it does have GB bars and stem, but specially made for Schwinn, with the Schwinn S where the GB should be forged in the side of the stem.
