I dropped him a line with suggestions for some more useful pictures. It looks like a nice San Remo model with Nervex Lugs. My guess is that it has Reynolds double butted main triangle as a minimum. Judging by the reflectors and kickstand I bet this bike hasn't had anyone making changes to it since it was first purchased except for that seat. The only think I wonder about is that fork.
