There was a definite brakage problem with some, if not all CX freewheels. I have heard that the problem was addressed and the units were then reintroduced as America, but it may be that the problem was solved before the name change and the addition of the plastic dust shield (and groovy tin). If it was solved before the Americas came out, then there are some good CX's and some defect-o ones.
