Otherwise, you're going to get into a long philisophical discussion about originality which include all sorts of analogies from the classic car world, etc. After all, the first replacement hoods that I purchased for NR levers did not say Campagnolo on them. This was in the late '70s by the way - well within the bounds of the time period associated with this mailing list. So I could justifiably claim that using similar hoods now allows me to precisely recreate the sort of bike that was ridden in 1979 by someone who couln't afford the Campy replacement parts.
